Program Description
Notice:
This is a Double-degree program with the first year in Groningen University and second year in Fudan University. We only offer information of Fudan University (such as the tution fee) and some of the Groningen University.
The programme (with Groningen University) offers you the opportunity to gain comprehensive knowledge of the economies, economic policies, strategies, theories & practices of Europe and East Asia.
The core content of the programme reflects the increasing globalization and changes taking place in the field of economics and business.
This is a unique opportunity to experience student life on two different continents, with sufficient time spent in Groningen and in Shanghai to gain a thorough understanding of the Dutch and Chinese cultures.
Programme
1st year
This double degree programme is structured in two parts:
Year one, you study one of the following one-year, 60 EC MSc programmes at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Groningen:MSc Economics, MSc International Economics and Business, MSc Finance, or MSc International Business and Management.
2nd year
Year two is spent at the School of Economics, Fudan University in Shanghai where you study the Master in World Economy (Globalization and Chinese Economy) or - if you have taken the MSc Finance at FEB - the Master in Finance programme.
The core curriculum relates to the economic and business strategies, theories and practices of China. On completion, Fudan awards a Master of Economics in World Economy or a Master of Economics in Finance.
Year 1 is spent in Groningen studying one of the above mentioned MSc's. Extra-curricular courses in Basic Chinese (HSK Mandarin I and II) are organized by the Groningen Confucius Institute:
You can also participate in extra-curricular Sino-Dutch activities organized in Groningen.
Year two is spent in Shanghai, where you take compulsory courses and electives, and write a Master's thesis.

Because all our programmes are EQUIS and AACSB accredited, a standard which only one percent of universities reach worldwide, your degree will be highly valued on the labour market. This double degree programme has been designed for individuals who aspire to a career in national, international, multinational or transnational institutions and enterprises such as:
- international economist and strategy expert in a multinational corporation;
- staff member, with an (inter)national governmental organization such as IMF, Worldbank, OECD, WTO, ECB, ODI or the EU;
- professional economist on development, Chinese and East Asian transition economic issues in international agencies, governments or the private sector;
- economic consultant with an (inter)national governmental organization;
- business consultant with an internationally operating consultancy firm.

It requires above 1000 words for master applicants. The language should align with the one to be taught with.The content should include (but not limited to) study and work experience, academic achievement,expected research proposal,and career plan after graduation, etc.
*10. Completely filled Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
The form should be filled out in Chinese or English?the report is valid for six months. Applicants currently residing in China may submit Residence Permit or Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card in substitute for Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
